About us, our villa, Hikkaduwa and holiday in Sri Lanka

Our villa is a 150-year-old house from the colonial period; our antique furniture, together with the architecture of the house itself, gives a special style to this place. The villa has a large living room with a TV and sofa, and a dining area with kitchenette. The terrace is the perfect place to have breakfast, drink coffee or work on a laptop whilst enjoying the beautiful views of the garden. We have a huge garden with palm trees, fruit trees and flowers; here there is space for sports (volleyball, badminton, horizontal bar), a large glade for yoga, hammocks to relax in and an open kitchen with a barbecue. Our place is cozy, quiet and only 5-7 minutes’ walk to one of the best beaches in Sri Lanka - Narigama beach. More details in the review.

The house has 5 rooms for guests and they are all different: double and twin, a large double and a family room for 4 – all with private bathrooms, and a budget twin with a shared bathroom. All rooms have access to a large common living room, equipped with fans and mosquito nets. Weekly cleaning with change of bed linen is included in the price. You can look a photo and check the price in section "rooms"

For single and budget travelers, backpackers and and those who love company, we recently opened our own mini-hostel in a separate house in the courtyard. The hostel has 6 bunks and is equipped with a ceiling fan and good protection from mosquitoes for a comfortable stay. The panoramic wall with a magnificent view of the garden is a distinctive feature of our hostel in Hikkaduwa.

We are situated close to the famous and popular beach, Hikkaduwa - Narigama. The beach is 4km long and is ideal for surfing from November to April. During this time, the water is quite calm, the descent to the ocean is flat, the sand strip is up to 100 m wide. On the beach there are many cafes and restaurants with free sunbeds, schools for surfing and diving and places to rent boards. At the end of Narigama beach, towards the centre of Hikkaduwa the coral reef begins. Here there is a small beach where you can feed large turtles. Behind the turtle beach there is a wonderful place - Laguna, with shallow water, where there are practically no waves as both sides are surrounded by coral reef. It is an ideal beach for families with children, although it can be more crowded here.

About Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is a unique island that definitely will not leave you indifferent. This exotic country has history, culture as well as stunningly beautiful and diverse nature and landscapes. On the island there are mountains and valleys, savannahs, deserts and tropical jungles as well as many rivers, lakes and waterfalls. The temperature of the air and the ocean on the coast of Sri Lanka remains fairly consistent year round: +30 degrees in the afternoon and +27 degrees at night, plus or minus a couple of degrees. The mountains and Hill Country are known for being a little cooler.

The island has something for everyone, you can choose from many activities such as surfing, diving, rafting, hiking and safari. Or if you fancy something more relaxing you can lie on the beach sipping cocktails under a palm tree. You will get an "ocean" of impressions from traveling around the island. With a guide or on your own you can visit ancient temples and cities in Dambulla, Sigiriya, Pollonaruwa and Anuradhapura. Tea plantations, waterfalls and mountains, flooded with greenery in Ella, Nuwara Elia, Haputalle and Ratnapura. Elephants can sometimes be found on the city streets, this is a place where lizards, peacocks, monkeys and other exotic animals live in harmony with civilization. Other stunning places are the Horton Plains and Sri Pada ‘Adam’s Peak’, which, according to legend, left a mark on the Buddha himself.

The island is so diverse and full of attractions that it takes at least a few months to explore everything, but one of the primary attractions of Sri Lanka is its wide beaches with clean sand surrounded by green palm trees.

About Hikkaduwa

Hikkaduwa is small resort town, famous for its coral reef, turtles and beaches. It is located on the South-West coast, 110 km/a few hours’ drive from the airport. It is one of Sri Lanka’s first and largest tourist spots and has the most developed tourist infrastructure on the Island.

Hikkaduwa ranks highly amongst beach resorts in Sri Lanka. Here, in addition to the chic beach, you will find everything you need for a good rest. In the town there are supermarkets, bus and railway stations, a market, banks, cafes, restaurants and car and scooter rental.

There are many interesting sites nearby including tortoiseshell farm, temples, river safaris, the turtle beach and glass bottom boat trips.
A 30-minute drive down the coast from Hikkaduwa is the famous Galle Fort, whilst in the other direction you can find the mask museum, a huge Buddha statue, a waterfall and moonstone mines.
For fans of outdoor activities - you can take surfing lessons, go diving or snorkeling on the coral reef or go sea fishing.
Hikkaduwa is suitable for everyone whether you’re looking for a romantic trip, beach relaxation, yoga tour, a fun holiday with friends or relaxation with your family and children.

About our unique guesthouse in Hikkaduwa

The guesthouse "Anilau Villa Sisira" is located just 500 meters from the beach, in a quiet location, away from the road, railway and passersby. Here you can find solitude and harmony with nature. Our villa is a beautiful colonial house in the middle of the largest garden in Hikkaduwa with hammocks under the palm tree, the twitter of birds and the sound of the ocean in the distance - all this creates a pleasant and relaxing atmosphere. You’ll find you do not want to leave and may even want to stay forever;)
Our guesthouse has been open since 2015 and in 2017 here appeared whilst not the first, but certainly a unique hostel in Hikkaduwa, relaxing, comfortable and fairly priced.
